Who’s included.
The directory covers 475 scheduled 2026 congressional seat races: 435 voting House seats, five delegate seats, 33 regular Senate elections, and the Florida and Ohio Senate special elections. Our current snapshot contains 1,395 candidate listings. We also list the 65 senators whose seats are not scheduled for election in 2026.
The main election is November 3, 2026. Louisiana’s House contests use an open primary that day and a December 12 open general election if needed. Georgia has a December 1 runoff if needed; the Virgin Islands delegate runoff is November 17 if needed. Completed special elections for the outgoing Congress are outside this directory’s scope.
Two separate House vacancy specials, FL-20 and TX-23, still have dates to be determined in the House Clerk’s list. Puerto Rico’s four-year resident commissioner term is not up in 2026.
Where the names come from.
Candidate names, affiliations, campaign links, current officeholders and reported ballot status come from The Green Papers’ 2026 election directory. Each race links to its source. This is a compiled roster, not a certified ballot and not a promise that every filing has been included.
We import entries the source still identifies as candidates. Its entries marked as primary losers, withdrawn or otherwise no longer candidates are excluded. Write-ins remain labeled. When the source has not confirmed ballot qualification, we say so. That does not establish that an official application is pending. Names can appear under multiple ballot parties; a duplicate source entry for the same person in the same race is merged.
FEC links provide campaign-finance context. Filing with the FEC does not establish ballot qualification. We do not publish candidates’ residential addresses or use public petition signatures to infer a candidate’s stance.
Election dates and scope are checked against the Senate Class II roster, FEC election dates, Louisiana election dates, Georgia’s calendar and the Virgin Islands calendar. Consult your state election office for your final ballot and voting instructions.
What a pledge status means.
- Pledge signed: verified acceptance of the exact published pledge version, supported by an attributable public record.
- Publicly supports this pledge: explicit support for this pledge, without a verified signature.
- Declined to sign: an explicit, attributable decision to decline.
- Opposes this pledge: explicit opposition to this pledge.
- Response on record: an answer that needs context, including a qualified position.
- No verified pledge response on record: we have not verified a response. This makes no claim that the person was contacted, refused, or opposes the pledge.
Every published response needs a date, source, verification date, reviewer and pledge version. Previous responses stay in the record when a position changes or a correction is made. Conflicting answers are presented with context.
Bill support is its own record.
Sponsoring or cosponsoring the Epstein Files Transparency Act II does not mean someone signed this website’s pledge. Legislative entries identify the bill, action date and source. The initial entries document the original sponsors and cosponsors in the introduced texts of H.R. 9694 and S. 5005. An absent entry is not a finding of opposition or a complete legislative history.
Send an answer. Fix a mistake.
Use the response or correction link on a candidate’s record. Include the candidate’s name, the race, what needs to change, the date and a public source. Official statements, recorded public answers and campaign statements can establish a response. An unsourced screenshot or someone else’s description needs further verification.
Submissions are reviewed before publication; they never change a status automatically. Roster refreshes preserve the separate response history. This directory is maintained through reviewed updates, not a live election feed.
